Instructions Cleaning Brewing Unit Cafetto
1. Preparation of the machine
Turn on your espresso machine and make sure it is at the right temperature. Remove the portafilter and place a blind filter (a filter without holes) in the filter holder.
2. Adding Cafetto Brew Group Cleaner
Open the sachet of Cafetto Brew Group Cleaner and use half of the contents. Add this to the blind filter in the portafilter.
3. Backflushing the brewing unit
Attach the portafilter with the blind filter in the machine and start the backflush process. This means that you let the machine rinse for a few seconds and then stop. Repeat this process 5-10 times to remove all coffee residues and oils from the brewing unit.
4. Rinse after cleaning
Remove the portafilter and rinse thoroughly. Replace the blind filter in the portafilter and repeat the backflushing without detergent to thoroughly rinse the machine.
5. Cleaning the portafilter
Use the other half of the Cafetto Brew Group Cleaner sachet to clean your portafilter. Fill a bowl with 500 ml of hot water, add the cleaning agent and let the portafilter and filter basket soak in it. Make sure that the wooden handle of the portafilter does not come into contact with the cleaning agent.
6. Rinse and dry
After soaking, rinse the portafilter and filter basket thoroughly with clean water. Dry thoroughly before placing back in the machine.
By following these steps, you'll ensure that both the brew group and portafilter of your espresso machine are completely clean, ensuring your espresso always tastes its best.
