What exactly will we do during the private barista workshop?

During our private barista workshop at home, we use a clear and proven structure. This way, you know exactly what you'll learn and what you'll take home with you .

You can choose from one or all components. This is clearly shown in the quote.

1. Short theory – better understanding what you buy, taste and prepare

We start with a concise explanation that will help you make better choices about coffee beans and settings.

You will learn, among other things:

  • Where coffee comes from and how provenance influences taste
  • The difference between light, medium and dark roast
  • How Roast and Freshness Affect Espresso
  • Which coffee beans suit your taste preference

No long theory, but just enough to make more conscious choices when buying and using coffee.

2. Practice – mastering espresso

Then we will start working extensively on making espresso.

You will learn:

  • How a good espresso is made
  • What goes wrong when an espresso runs too fast or too slow
  • Which parameters really make a difference (grinding degree, dosage, flow time)
  • How to recognize and correct your settings

The goal is for you to understand why an espresso succeeds or fails β€” and how to fix it yourself.

You will learn:

  • Which milk froths best
  • How to make microfoam without big bubbles
  • How to check milk temperature and structure
  • The basics of pouring for simple latte art

4. Wrapping Up – Bringing It All Together

At the end of the workshop:

  • Make your own espressos and milk drinks
  • Do you understand how to adjust your settings?
  • Do you know what to look for in coffee beans?
  • Do you have concrete tools to consistently make better coffee at home?

You can immediately incorporate this knowledge into your daily coffee routine.

Results after the workshop

Afterward, you'll know not only what to do, but more importantly, why . This ensures you'll continue to confidently make great coffee for weeks and months to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Koffie wordt gelijkmatig getampt tijdens een Sage Dual Boiler privΓ© barista workshop aan huis, met aandacht voor techniek en espresso consistentie.

Is this workshop suitable if I have just purchased an espresso machine?

Yes, definitely. Especially when you are just starting out, a workshop is valuable. You will learn directly how to use your machine properly, so that you can achieve results faster and make coffee with more confidence. But even if you have had an espresso machine for a while, a training can be surprisingly educational. I regularly meet coffee lovers who have been making coffee for years, but still notice that there is more to get out of their machine. With a few practical tips, your coffee will suddenly taste really good again.

Will the workshop be tailored to my level and equipment?

Yes, always. Whether you are just starting to make coffee or have been making espresso for years, the workshop is tailored to your needs. We work with your own machine and grinder, at your own pace. No standard story, but advice and explanation that fit your experience, your questions and your coffee goals.

Do I need a separate coffee grinder for this workshop?

Not necessarily. We'll work with what you already have. Do you have a built-in grinder or a separate one? That's fine. Do you make coffee with pre-ground beans? Then we'll figure out how to get the most out of them. It is recommended to use a bean grinder to get your espresso extraction right.

Can I also learn how to froth milk and make basic latte art?

Definitely. During the workshop you will learn how to froth milk with the right temperature and structure β€” without big bubbles, just as it should be for cappuccinos and latte art. If you are interested, we will also practice pouring and you will get tips for your first heart or rosette.

How long does the home workshop last?

The workshop lasts an hour and a half. That's enough time to work together on your focus point, whether that's making espresso and adjusting the coffee grinder, frothing milk, or a specific point of interest, without it becoming overwhelming.

Of course, we will tailor the pace and format to your experience and interests β€” it's your time.

Is the workshop intended for one person or can I participate with someone else?

You can easily take the workshop alone or with a partner. Whether you prefer a one-on-one session or want to learn with others, such as your partner, colleagues, or friends, I ensure everyone actively participates and learns at their own level. When booking, please let me know how many people you'll be with, and I'll adjust the format and quote accordingly.

Barista workshop at home – for your Sage Barista Pro

Barista workshop at home Sage Barista Pro | Private coffee training

Discover how you can achieve coffee bar-level quality at home with your Sage the Barista Proβ€”no hassle, no guesswork. In this private, in-home barista workshop, you'll learn step-by-step how to get the most out of your machine: the right grind, proper extraction, perfect milk texture, and how to brew consistent espressos. The training takes place at your home, on your own machine. No generic lessonsβ€”but 100% tailored to your specific needs.

Why this workshop?

The Sage the Barista Pro is a fast, powerful, and modern espresso machine β€”but it only truly shines when set up and used correctly. With features like an integrated conical burr grinder, 30 grind settings, ThermoJet heating that's ready in seconds, PID temperature control, and a steam wand for true microfoam, this machine offers a lot of potential.
Many home baristas struggle to consistently achieve a good extraction or froth milk without bubbles. This workshop will help you avoid these pitfalls.

What do you learn?

We use a clear structure where theory and practice go hand in hand β€” fully tailored to your Sage Barista Pro and your level.

Theory

  • Where does coffee come from? Which flavor profiles correspond to which countries?
  • How does branding affect taste?
  • How do you choose beans that really suit your taste preferences?
  • What do factors like grind, temperature, and extraction time mean for your espresso?

Practice (on your machine)

  • How to make a good espresso on your Sage Pro β€” from dosing, tamping, pre-infusion to extraction.
  • What to do if the espresso doesn't come out of the machine properly: too fast/too slow, too blond/too dark?
  • Which parameters can you adjust immediately (grinding degree, dosing time, temperature) to gain consistency?
  • How to froth milk for a cappuccino or latte without big bubbles β€” and how to learn to pour latte art?
  • How do you clean your own machine, maintain it easily and get the most out of your equipment?

Who is this workshop for?

  • For you if you have a Sage the Barista Pro at home or are planning to buy one and really want to learn how to use it.
  • For the experienced home barista who wants to make the leap from β€œso-so” espresso to β€œwow, that’s good.”
  • For the coffee lover who wants to learn how to make latte art, for example β€” or simply make better cappuccinos for friends and family.
  • For the home-based hospitality entrepreneur who wants to hone his barista skills on his own machine.

Why at home?

  • You learn on your device β€” so directly relevant to your machine, your beans, your kitchen.
  • No β€œone-size-fits-all” lessons: the training is tailored to your level and questions.
  • Personal guidance from a barista/professional: you'll receive immediate feedback and tips that you can apply tomorrow .
  • Comfort of your own environment: you don't have to travel, and you work with your own device and tools β€” this prevents confusion or incorrect transfer later.

Why us?

With years of practical experience, trainer Geertjandebaristaman knows his way around every espresso machine and situationβ€”including your Sage Barista Pro. He tailors the workshop entirely to your questions, skill level, and needs. From the right grind size to latte artβ€”you're the focus.
This way your kitchen becomes your own barista lab.

Do I need to have experience with espresso machines?
No β€” the training is suitable for both beginners and experienced users who want to delve deeper. We tailor the approach to your level.

Which beans should I use?
During the theory session, we'll discuss which beans suit your taste (e.g. fruity, chocolate, nutty) and how to adjust your grind and extraction accordingly.

Will my beans/grind be used?
Yes. We use your beans and your machine. This means you learn directly on your trusted device.

How long does the workshop last?
The standard duration is approximately 2 hours, depending on your questions and desired depth.

How much does the workshop cost?
Contact us through our website for current pricing and availability. (You'll receive a quote shortly.)

Can I also let multiple people participate?
Yes, that's possible. Families or friends can participate together, and we'll adjust the price and content accordingly.
