You will train in a professional space at Maasstraat 84. The time slot is exclusively for you or your own group, so no unknown participants will join. This allows for questions, personal guidance, and plenty of practice time.

The training is suitable for home baristas, couples, friends, small private groups, and people who have just bought an espresso machine or are considering doing so.

You have a good machine, but the coffee isn't turning out the way you want yet.

Many home baristas will recognize this: you have a beautiful espresso machine, you buy good beans, but sometimes your espresso tastes sour, other times bitter or watery.

  • Often, it's not due to a single component, but rather the combination of beans, freshness, grind, dosage, extraction time, and technique.

  • Frothing milk also seems simple, until you realize the milk becomes too thick, too thin, too hot, or difficult to pour.

  • During this training, you will not only learn what to do, but especially why certain steps influence your coffee.

What is a private barista training in Amsterdam?

A private barista training in Amsterdam is a closed 2-hour training for yourself or your own group. You will learn to better understand espresso, froth milk, and apply basic latte art in a professional training room at Maasstraat 84.

For those for whom this is logical

For home baristas, couples, friends, small private groups, gift experiences, and people who have just bought or are considering a semi-automatic espresso machine.

Key details

The training is for 1 to a maximum of 5 people. You will practice with professional equipment, fresh coffee beans, milk, milk pitchers, tampers, and barista accessories. Everything you need for effective practice is included.

Why personal guidance works faster

You can find many coffee tips online, but at home the question often remains: what exactly am I doing wrong? During a private training session, Geert-Jan observes your technique, your tasting method, and your understanding of espresso and milk. This ensures you receive explanations that are directly tailored to your level and learning objective.

You won't leave with just a few tricks, but with a clearer understanding of coffee beans, extraction, milk texture, and the steps you can replicate at home.
