Thanks to his extensive practical experience, he quickly identifies areas for improvement and tailors his advice directly to your espresso machine and coffee grinder.
Geert-Jan is a seasoned barista and coffee trainer with over 10 years of experience in specialty coffee . Over the years, he has given hundreds of workshops and training sessions to both individuals and professionals.
Geertjan is SCA Intermediate certified and works with a variety of espresso machines and bean grinders daily. This allows him to quickly identify any issues and know exactly what adjustments are needed to achieve better resultsโtailored to your equipment.

In mijn eigen vertrouwde omgeving zoveel geleerd โ van het perfect opschuimen van melk tot het schenken van een mooi hartje (wat nog best een uitdaging is ๐). Geert-Jan legde alles op een fijne, rustige manier uit en gaf tips waar ik echt mee verder kan.
De sfeer was ontspannen, gezellig en vooral heel leerzaam. Ik had nooit gedacht dat er zรณveel achter een goede kop koffie zit!

Wat een geweldige ervaring met Geert Jan, de barista man! De workshop was niet alleen leuk, maar ook ontzettend leerzaam. We hebben eindelijk geleerd hoe we onze Sage espressomachine goed moeten bedienen, en dat maakt echt een wereld van verschil.
De kennis over koffie werd uitgebreid en duidelijk uitgelegd, waardoor we nu veel beter begrijpen wat we doen. Het resultaat mag er zijn: de koffie die we nu maken smaakt net zo heerlijk als in een echte koffiebar, en het melkschuim is echt fantastisch!

Niet te duur en altijd op tijd met leveren
De workshop thuis was helder en leerzaam. Eerst een klein uurtje theorie daarna aan de slag met je eigen machine. Prettige communicatie. Het fijne is dat je daarna ook nog wat kan vragen, want als je eenmaal later zelf aan de slag gaat heb je ook nog wel wat vragen. Zeker aan te raden om bij je thuis uit te nodigen!
Zoveel geleerd tijdens de workshop bij een vriendin. Nooit geweten dat je je machine met de 16 en 60 regel moet instellen! Ook dat bonen zoveel verschillen. Ook de branddatum dat die zo belangrijk is voor de smaak!

Do I need a separate coffee grinder for this workshop?
Not necessarily. We'll work with what you already have. Do you have a built-in grinder or a separate one? That's fine. Do you make coffee with pre-ground beans? Then we'll figure out how to get the most out of them. It is recommended to use a bean grinder to get your espresso extraction right.
Can I also learn how to froth milk and make basic latte art?
Definitely. During the workshop you will learn how to froth milk with the right temperature and structure โ without big bubbles, just as it should be for cappuccinos and latte art. If you are interested, we will also practice pouring and you will get tips for your first heart or rosette.
How long does the home workshop last?
The workshop lasts an hour and a half. That's enough time to work together on your focus point, whether that's making espresso and adjusting the coffee grinder, frothing milk, or a specific point of interest, without it becoming overwhelming.
