Collection: Funny Mugs for Remote Workers and Home Office Gifts

Working from home is great, until the first video call starts before you've had your coffee. This collection features funny mugs for remote workers, hybrid workers and self-employed professionals who want to make their home-office coffee breaks more relatable, practical and enjoyable.

Think white ceramic mugs with dry coffee humour, short quotes or a personalised design. Perfect for your own desk or as a small gift for someone who often works from home. Not a formal corporate present, but a mug that becomes part of the daily routine: beside a laptop, during a meeting or with that first quiet coffee of the day.

Funny mugs for your home office

Above all, a good work-from-home mug should be practical. You use it not just once, but every working day: next to your laptop, during online meetings, beside your notebook or simply when you're not quite ready to talk to anyone.

This collection includes white ceramic coffee and tea mugs with relatable messages for people working from home. Many mugs hold approximately 300 ml and are suitable for coffee, tea, lungo or cappuccino. Always check the exact specifications of each product, including capacity, printing, dishwasher suitability and microwave use.

Why working-from-home humour is different from office humour

A mug for remote work does not have to be loud or over the top. What makes it appealing is the sense of recognition. Think of that first cup of coffee before opening your inbox, the meeting where you'd rather keep your camera off, or the moment when “not right now” says it all.

That is why this collection focuses not on general office jokes, but on coffee mugs that suit a home workspace: understated, relatable, dryly humorous and useful every day.

Who are they for? Remote workers, hybrid workers and freelancers

This collection is a good fit for people who regularly work from home: hybrid workers, freelancers, self-employed professionals, business owners, students, colleagues working remotely or partners who want to make their home desks feel a little more personal.

Looking for a mug for someone at the office or a gift for an entire team? A broader workplace or office collection may make more sense. But if the recipient spends a lot of time working at a laptop at home, this collection is a better place to start.

Which style should you choose: dry humour, positive, personal or bold?

Choose a mug to suit the person and the occasion.

For someone with a dry sense of humour, a short, clear message often works best. For a remote worker who could use a little encouragement, a positive quote may be a better choice. For a true coffee enthusiast, choose a mug that puts coffee centre stage. And if you want to make the gift more personal, consider a mug with a name, your own message or an image from De Barista Shop's personalised mug collection .

Advice from De Barista Shop

Giving a mug as a present? Choose something relatable rather than overly complicated. A good home-office mug does not need to shout for attention. The best mug is the one someone naturally reaches for during the working day.

Can't decide between different messages? Choose a mug that suits the recipient's coffee routine: a gentle start to the day, staying focused, taking a break from meetings or adding a positive note to their desk.
