Collection: Gift Mugs for Work and the Office

A mug as a gift for work or the office?

A good gift mug is practical, relatable and useful every day. This collection features coffee and tea mugs suitable as thank-you gifts, onboarding presents, team gifts, office treats or small corporate gifts.

These mugs suit coffee drinkers, people working from home, employees and teams who want to add a personal touch to their daily coffee break. Some mugs are playful and bold, while others are positive, simple or suitable for personalisation.

Instead of giving something that ends up in a drawer, you give a gift that gets used: at a desk, in the office kitchen or during the first coffee break of the working day.

Gift mugs for everyday use at work

This collection includes gift mugs for work, offices and home workspaces. Think white ceramic mugs with coffee sayings, positive quotes, familiar workplace humour or a personalised name. They are suitable for coffee, tea, cappuccino, lungo or any other daily coffee break.

The appeal of a mug as a workplace gift lies in its simplicity: everyone uses a mug, it is an easy gift to give, and it stays visible on a desk or in the kitchen. Always check the exact product specifications, including capacity, printing, dishwasher suitability and microwave use.

Why choose a practical gift that actually gets used?

Many corporate gifts are too generic. A coffee mug, on the other hand, is tangible and useful. That makes this collection suitable for employers, HR departments, team leaders or colleagues looking for a small but functional present.

Consider this collection for:

• welcoming new employees during onboarding;
• thanking a colleague;
• a farewell gift;
• a team occasion;
• a small office treat;
• a gift for someone working from home;
• a shared coffee moment at the office.

Who are they for? Employees, colleagues, teams and coffee drinkers

These gift mugs are suitable for people who drink coffee or tea at work every day. Not just dedicated coffee enthusiasts, but also colleagues who want a practical mug on their desk, home workers who want to personalise their workspace and teams receiving a small token of appreciation.

Looking specifically for a bold, humorous mug for one colleague? The Funny Mugs for Colleagues at Work collection may be a better fit. This collection has a broader focus: gift mugs for work, offices and business occasions.

Which mug should you choose?

Choose according to the occasion.

For a thank-you gift, a positive message or a mug with someone's name works well. For onboarding, a neutral and practical option is often preferable. A farewell gift can be more personal or humorous. For teams, a simple coffee mug with a relatable message is often a better choice than an overly specific joke.

Want to put together a more complete gift? Pair a mug with coffee beans, coffee syrup or a small barista accessory. For inspiration, see our coffee gifts for coffee lovers or coffee syrups for home use .

Why De Barista Shop?

De Barista Shop sees coffee as a daily ritual. It is not just about machines, beans and tools, but also about the moments around them: the first cup at work, a chat by the coffee machine and a gift that someone will actually use.

That is why gift mugs fit naturally into the range. They are approachable, practical and part of coffee culture both at work and at home.

For teams that want to go beyond giving a present and learn to make better coffee together, an on-site corporate barista workshop is a natural next step.

Combine: from a mug to a complete office gift

A mug makes a great small present, but becomes even more meaningful when paired with something that enhances the coffee break. Think fresh coffee beans, syrup, a gift voucher or a personal message.

Frequently asked questions about gift mugs for work and the office

Is a mug a suitable gift for work or the office?

Yes. A mug is a suitable workplace gift because it is practical, easy to give and useful every day. For employees, colleagues and people working from home who regularly drink coffee or tea, it is a gift that is likely to be used.

When would you give someone a mug at work?

A gift mug is suitable for onboarding, farewells, birthdays, thank-you gestures, team occasions, Christmas gift boxes, Secret Santa or a small corporate treat.

What is the difference between a gift mug and a funny mug for a colleague?

A gift mug for work or the office suits a wider range of occasions and is often more practical or presentable. A funny colleague mug focuses more specifically on humour, coffee jokes and one particular colleague. The two collections therefore serve different gift needs.

Can I make a mug more personal?

Yes. Adding a name, your own message or an image makes a mug more personal. This is especially suitable for farewells, work anniversaries, team gifts or when you want to give someone a mug that is clearly meant just for them.

Are these mugs suitable for teams or corporate orders?

Yes. Mugs work well as team gifts or corporate tokens of appreciation. For larger quantities, it is wise to choose a clear, neutral or personalised design that suits the team or company.
