Do you notice this when grinding?

With a Sage equipped with a built-in grinder, the coffee falls directly into your filter holder. That works, but it's not always convenient if you want to check the amount first.

  • There is coffee next to your cup

Sometimes a little coffee grounds residue remains along the edge of the portafilter after grinding.

  • You want to weigh your mailings

You want to know how many grams you’ve ground, but your coffee is already in the filter basket.

  • You lack space to distribute

You want to break up clumps before tamping, but your full filter basket leaves little room to work.

First grind, then pour over

Hang this black dosing cup under the built-in grinder of a suitable Sage machine. The wings hold the cup in place and the activation tab operates the grinder. Then you can weigh the grounds and carefully pour them into the portafilter. This gives you a little more control over preparing your espresso.

Who is this cup intended for?

For home baristas with a Sage Barista Express, Pro or Touch who want to first catch and weigh their ground coffee before filling the filter basket.

What do you get with this cup?

You will receive one black dosing cup with wings and an activation tab. The supplier states approximately 92 grams and dimensions of 54 Γ— 54 Γ— 85 mm. You use your own Sage machine and filter holder. If you want to check the quantity after grinding, a coffee scale with timer is a useful addition.

My advice: check your Sage model

Before ordering, check the model name on your Sage. The supplier lists the Barista Express, Pro and Touch as compatible machines and excludes the Impress models. Do you also often get static when grinding your coffee? Then you can look separately for a refillable 8 ml RDT spray. This is not included with this dosing cup.

A 54 mm filter holder alone is not enough: the mounting underneath the grinder must also fit.

How to use the Sage dosing cup

This is an extra step between grinding and tamping. Start with the right fit and then work with a measured amount of coffee.

Frequently asked questions about the Sage dosing cup

Does this dosing cup fit the Sage Barista Express?

Yes. Barista Essentials lists the Sage Barista Express, Barista Pro and Barista Touch as suitable models. However, check the version of your machine before ordering.

Can I also use this cup with a Sage Impress?

No. The supplier explicitly excludes Impress machines. A different dosing cup with a modified connection under the grinder is available for this purpose.

Why does the cup have wings and a tab?

We're here to help you get the most out of your water sports adventures. Below, you'll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

Do I need a scale to use it?

You can grind coffee without a scale. If you want to check your dosage in grams, use a separate coffee scale with a timer. This is not included.

Can I tamp directly out of the cup?

No, the cup is intended to catch the grounds and pour them over. Transfer the coffee to your filter basket, level it evenly, and then tamp it with your own tamper.

I have another question...

Black Sage dosing cup for coffee grinding

With a black dosing cup for your Sage, you can first collect the grounds from the built-in coffee grinder separately. The cup has wings and an activation tab and is intended for the Barista Express, Pro and Touch according to Barista Essentials. This is not the model for the Impress series.

If you like to weigh how much coffee you use per espresso, then a separate coffee scale helps with that control. Then pour the coffee into your filter basket, distribute it and tamp as you are used to. Always check the connection of your Sage first.

Want to spill less when grinding?

Check whether your Sage model is compatible with this black dosing cup. Then, go to Barista Essentials to select the correct version and complete your order there.
