How many scoops of coffee do I need?
To share
Do you want to enjoy the best filter coffee and know how many scoops of coffee you need?
Then it is essential to know the right ratio between coffee and water. Whether you use Douwe Egberts, Simon Lévelt, or a coffee from a Specialty Coffee roastery, the ratio is the same for almost all coffee types. What really makes a difference in taste is the freshness of the coffee.
Fresh coffee!
The fresher the coffee beans , the more natural fats they contain, and it is precisely in these fats that we find the rich flavors and aromas that we love. Therefore, always check the roasting date on the packaging. If the roasting date is more than two months ago, many of the fats have already oxidized, which makes the flavor of your coffee less full and intense.

The right ratio!
How many scoops of coffee and how much water do you need for a good filter coffee?
The most commonly used ratio in the Specialty Coffee world is 6 grams of ground coffee per 100 ml of water .
Here are some examples:
- For a 300 ml cup of coffee you need 18 grams of ground coffee.
- For a larger 1 liter pot, use 60 grams of ground coffee.
Consistency is key
For the most consistent and flavorful coffee, we recommend using a scale . This way, you can measure out the perfect amount of coffee every time, giving you that delicious taste you're looking for every time.
